SEJARAH DESA BUNGURSARI
Nama Desa Bungursari diambil dari dua suku kata “Bungur” yang artinya Ungu/Pohon Bungur yang membunyai bunga berwana ungu dan mempunyai banyak khasiat, warna ungu juga diartikan sebagai “imajinasi” dan “Sari” yang artinya Bagian Terpenting, Desa Bungursari mempunyai makna bagian terpenting dalam suatu daerah dan pusat pemerintahan yang mempunyai imajinasi-imajinasi dalam membangun Desa.
Pada tahun 1980 sebelum ada pemekaran , Desa Bungursari sebagai desa agraris merupakan sebuah wilayah bagian dari Desa Cibungur kecamatan campaka kabupaten purwakarta, kemudian sesuai Peraturan Daerah Nomor 24 Tahun 2000 Kecamatan Campaka mulai dimekarkan menjadi 3 kecamatan yakni :
- Kecamatan Bungursari ,
- Kecamatan Cibatu, dan
- Kecamatan Campaka.
Pada tanggal 3 maret 1983 akhirnya Desa Bungursari diakui secara syah menurut hukum,mempunyai luas wilayah 302,46 Ha dan terletak di atas ketinggian 75 Mdpl, yang berada di pusat kecamatan Bungursari dan 10 Km dari pusat Pemerintahan Kabupaten Purwakarta.
Dari kurun waktu tahun 1983 sampai sekarang kepemimpinan di Desa Bungursari mengalami pergantian kepala desa sebanyak 6 kali yaitu :
Tahun 1983 – 1984 pemerintahan dipimpin oleh Pjs Kepala Desa Bpk. Letnan Soejatma.
Tahun 1984 – 1988 Pemerintahan Desa bungursari di Pimpin Oleh Kepala Desa Definitif Bpk Mustadjab Soekarno.
Tahun 1988–2007 Pemerintahan Desa Bungursari di Pimpin Oleh Kepala Desa Definitif Bpk H Moch Engkus KSW.
Tahun 2007–2018 Pemerintahan Desa Bungursari di Pimpin Oleh Kepala Desa Definitif Bpk H Castono S.Ag, M.H.,
Tahun 2018 – 2021 Pemerintahan Desa Bungursari di Pimpin Oleh PJ Kepala Desa Bpk Udin Haerudin. menghabiskan
masa jabatan Kepala Desa Bungursari h. Castono, S.Ag, MH.Periode 2013-2019 dikarenakan mengundurkan diri karena pencalonan sebagai anggota DPRD
Kab Purwakarta pada pemilu Tahun 2019, yang mensyaratkan harus mengundurkan diri dari Jabatan Kepala Desa,
kemudian ditunjuk kembali karena ada penundaan Pilkades dikarenakan wabah Covid-19.
Tahun 2021- Sekarang Pemerintahan Desa Bungursari di Pimpin Oleh Kepala Desa Definitif Ibu HJ Nur Elah.
